Our Mission

Music Therapy Nashville was founded in order to help bring music therapy to anyone who could benefit, through direct therapeutic services, education, advocacy, community partnerships, and networking opportunities with other providers in the region.

As a treatment modality that recognizes the connection between physical, mental, and emotional health, we believe that music therapy provides the type of space and focus that many clients can use to feel better, become more grounded in who they are or who they would like to be, connect to the things that matter most to them, and gain more control of their lives and potential health challenges. Our mission is to provide as many people as possible with the option and experience of music therapy.

our history

"After years of working as a physician, I became frustrated by all the challenges that exist for both patients and providers trying to give and receive high-quality care in today's healthcare environment. I was also reminded daily that there were many people who didn't receive the type of care they needed or who slipped through the cracks in our current system. In an attempt to help fill these gaps and to create a space where providers and clients could focus more fully on personalized care and the therapeutic relationship, I started Music Therapy Nashville.

"I am dedicated to advocating for the field of music therapy, initiating an easy-to-use referral network for clients and local music therapists, and partnering with other community organizations, clinics, or health systems that are interested in developing their own music therapy programs. Most of all, I'm excited about expanding music therapy options for people in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you!"
